The foundation of the organization is built on the strength of area churches with the original Board of Directors selected from the Reformed and Christian Reformed churches. In 1979 the support expanded to include Immanuel and Pella Lutheran churches, Union Congregational, and St. Joseph Catholic churches.

Today, 16 area churches support the Christian Home & Rehabilitation Center, Inc and a 12 member volunteer Board of Directors represents area churches.
